From here we’ll be able to give you some advice and make suggestions to help you start working towards your goals.  Using online platform Training Peaks, we’ll set you up with a premium athlete account and carefully construct detailed workouts to help you make the most of the time you have to train.

We’ll discuss the best way for you to train, depending on what works for you and we’ll give you advice on how to improve performance when training with power, cadence, heart rate and using tools like Zwift, turbo trainers, rollers and Watt bikes.

If you’re working to target an event or race its important to structure your training throughout the year so that you reach peak performance at the right time.  This is where the annual training plan comes in.

The Personalised Annual Training Plan (as used by the Great Britain cycling team):

This periodised training plan set out with a different focus for each 4-5 week block, carefully tracking your recovery & adaption to training so that you reach your peak performance for target races or events.  Depending on your particular events these focus components may include strength & flexibility, aerobic endurance, muscle power, short term muscular endurance, nutrition, motivation etc.

We’ll prepare an annual training plan for you, breaking up the year into weeks with varying goals, traning intensities and training volume and working on different component of fitness, leading into your races.

In conjuction with the annual plan, weekly training plans target the following components of fitness, to varying degrees depending on the discipline of your events.

  • Aerobic and anaerobic endurance
  • Strength and flexibility
  • Muscular Power
  • Short term muscular endurance
  • Technique
  • Tactics
  • Psychological requirements
  • Nutrition including recovery

We’ll also take time to periodically analyse your data using one of the most advanced softwares available, WKO4 – helping you to reach your seasons goals.
